This sacrament does what it says: it confirms us in our faith with the bestowal of the gifts  and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Infants when they are baptised have parents who accept responsibility for their growing in faith. Confirmation is a sign of growth and maturity that the individual is prepared to accept this responsibility for themselves.

Generally, Confirmation is celebrated every two years. Students in Years 5 & 6 are potential candidates. Usually, it is celebrated during the middle part of the year depending up the Archdiocesan Chancery allocating a celebrant. Notice will be circulated through the Church and schools and baptismal certificates will be requested. There will four lessons and a Day in the Spirit for the candidates with a session for the parents.
